| I know, I know off topic, but it's on now, and this is where people will see it. Move it in about 20 minutes if u don't mind.
3 day event. And one of the human opponents is the guy that won 74 days in a row winning $2.5 million.
Im pretty psyched about this.

| tied at $5000 at the stopping point. 3rd place guy is at $2000. They didn't play the 2nd rnd, nor final jeopardy. I guess they'll save that for the upcoming days.
Computer started getting answers wrong, and I think the players began to click even b4 they read the question in an attempt to gain control.
and this can now be moved.

| What is leg?
I expected Watson to run away with it, but props to the human mind for showing it can compete and beat a super computer like Watson. Watson may have a riduculous supply of information in it's memory banks, but still can't reason like a human can.

Is it really necessary to have all those pictures in your sig? They all suck and should be banned!

| From Wiki.
"the final result ended with a victory for Watson with a score of $77,147, besting Jennings who scored $24,000 and Rutter who scored $21,600."
rather anticlimatic, was really hoping the humans would make a game of it.
But this part here put the humans at a disadvantage imo:
"In the match, all contestants, including Watson, had to wait until host Alex Trebek spoke each clue entirely, then a light was lit as a signal; the first to activate their buzzer button won the chance to respond."
I know Watson recieved a text of the question, as opposed to "hearing" the question(I would have much preferred if Watson was dependent upon voice recognition), so the red light put the contestants on a level playing field in terms of when the can click in, but still I would typically expect a machine to be much quicker in responding to the light.

| http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/trending-now/alex-trebek-hero-celebs-unite-help-family-presidential-162812438.htmlThe answer: "the bravest game show host." The question: "Who is Alex Trebek?" That's because the 71-year-old "Jeopardy" host tore his Achilles tendon while chasing a burglar down the hall of a San Francisco hotel. Trebek was in the Golden Gate city with his wife to host the National Geographic World Championship. At the event he answered the question, "Why are you on crutches?" by saying, "The answer is: At 2:30 yesterday morning, chasing a burglar down the hall...my Achilles tendon ruptured and I fell in an ignominious heap to the carpeting, bruising my other leg in the process." The suspect, 56-year-old Lucinda Moyers, was later apprehended by police; she is accused of taking money and valuables. Alex Trebek is trending on Twitter, where people are commending his bravery, marveling at how good he looks at 71, and joking that he made the suspect answer for the crime in the form of a question. | |
