This guy is out of control. 10 years/300M? Just shot down their offer today and said talks are done for now. I hate the Cardinals so best case scenario to me would be seeing that fucker sign with the Cubs.

I think the only way it goes down is if they give him that money on a scale. 1st year, 40M...10th year, 10M...etc.

if he goes anywhere he will go to the american league.

He is a great player but a 10 year contract is a joke for a guy that will be 41 or 42 when the contract ends. I dont know what they offered today but if u ask me maybe 7 year 230 million or something like that.

Always thought Pujols was a different type of new superstar player, not all about the money. I guess I can't fault him, probably just going off A-Rod's 10 year 275 million dollar contract he signed in 2008. Guy is def one of the better players in history, but none of these guys are worth the money they make, and certianly not 300 mill.

Yeah the Yanks made a huge mistake signing A-Rod to that deal and at least the Cards are being smart and not just jumping to sign there superstar for 10 years.

Yanks can afford to pay somebody an obscene amount of money for 3-4 more years after they've become old and worthless....Cards can't.

Pujols is just shooting very very high right now. He may want 10 years but i'm sure he knows 300 milli is fantasy land no matter who he talks to. You just have to set the bar very high at first and then after haggling you get probably the biggest contract in the history of the game like A-Rod who was originally asking for a whole lot more than he ended up getting.

10 years is just crazy for someone his age. I think it's possible they might cave and give him about 8 years. I'm sure there are other teams out there that will fork over the contract he wants just to get Albert.

Well the deadline has passed. Will he really stop all talks and go into FA? Interesting to see.

Hard to tell what's truth and what's not, but I did see his interview where he said those weren't even close to the numbers on the table. I just think if it wasn't close to that a deal would be done. Who knows tho.
