| That's how he sees it. He's done nothing but fight champions while Couture takes on the likes of Brandon Vera, a 40+ year old boxer who can't wrestle a lick and a 40+ year old wrestler who can't box a lick. Couture has a similar chin and at 48 years old can still pick and choose the fights he wants. Liddell is 41 and is being forced into retirement. The UFC's mismanagement of Liddell's career has been horrible to watch. He should have been given bouts with Vladimir Matyushenko, Matt Hamill, Tito Ortiz(and actually get to fight him) Stephan Bonnar, Couture or Coleman. | |

| It was impossible to do that with Chuck though. Dude was champion for so long he wouldn't take anything less than top level competition after Rampage took the belt because he wanted to make another run at the title. How do you give a guy Matyushenko or Bonnar if he wants to earn another title shot? | |

| And Franklin. Who put his lights out with a chin tap.
Chuck was done, and whomever he faced would have made that obvious.
Randy on the other hand was in a slugfest with Nog and made it to the decision, and as a wrestler he can stay out of danger for large portions of a fight, while Chuck wants to be exchanging bombs.

Yea, Randy was knocked on his ass a bunch and nearly put out by a guy never known for his punching power with almost no KO's his whole career, who himself has been busted up badly on his feet in the fights flanking Couture. Couture is just as shot as Liddell. He was smart in the opponents he took. Liddell is facing nothing but top five LHW's with the fastest hands in the division and also Rich Franklin, who regardless of ranking is still a dangerous top level striker who is about as good as he always was when he ruled the MW division. Chuck Liddell would fight whoever they told him to fight. Matyushenko was a headliner with a stellar MMA record and just the kind of fight Liddell took during his title run, Stephan Bonnar is a "legend", Coleman is a real legend, etc. Liddell wouldn't have turned down any of these fights. Especially if the UFC told him he can either face these guys or not fight at all.

| Chuck was KTFO by a pitter pat from a MW.
Randy has never gone through a stretch where is knocked cold in 4 of 6.
Chuck has one win since 2006.

Chuck has one win since 2006. Lets not act like Rich isn't every bit as big as Chuck is, and for years it was mentioned by Rogan at least once in almost every fight Franklin was in how he cuts such vast amounts of weight to make 185 and is big enough to be a light heavyweight.

Chuck has one win since 2006. Couture would have faired worse against Page, Shogun, Franklin and Rashad homie. This is my point in the first place. The guys Couture matched up with were the reason he found success.

| But after beating Wandy, Chuck looked poise to make another run at the title.
so Shad was a reasonable opponent.
Shogun lost to Gump, and then looked like dog vs Coleman, so that was a reasonable opponent as well.
Franklin is a MW, and put Chuck's lights out with a punch my chick would have eaten.
While Coleman is a guy that Chuck could prob handle, I'd pick Bonnar to KO Chuck at this point.

While Coleman is a guy that Chuck could prob handle, I'd pick Bonnar to KO Chuck at this point. This is all very true. Chuck was supposed to KO another wrestler in Rashad and outstrike a slow Shogun. Franklin replaced Tito at the last moment because he was another big name. If Chuck chose to hang on, then I would say bring on the Vlads. I still think he's a top 15-20 guy in the division.
