| One thing that suprised me about GSP is the way that greg jackson talks to him. Does GSP have trouble staying positive or something? It was like jackson was talkin to a little kid. By all means, GSP is def top 3 p4p, but it made me question his mental toughness. Has he ever won a fight in which he was losing? | |

| thats just the way Jackson is. Instead of having 3 people in your corner screaming at you. He is the only one talking and does so in very calming manner, It relaxes you i would think. I thought it was brilliant!!!
Everyone is on camp calls him a god.
And the prove is in the pudding i guess

He does the exact same thing with Rashad, Nate, and Cowboy.

Well outside of losing round 1 to Penn & the actual losses to Hughes & Serra in the 1st I can't think of a time GSP has ever been on the losing side of a round.

Exactly.....Maybe im being an extra strict judge of GSP, but I want to see him win through adversity. Examples: Fedor against Randleman and even Arlovski, and Anderson Silva against Hendo after losing a round.

If you've ever heard anyone interview Jackson that's just the way he talks. He's an extremely positive guy and he seems to love his fighters like they were his own kids. He's a great strategist and probably the top trainer in the game right now.

| well I was one of the guys who thought GSP vs Thiago was borderline lay'n pray. The fitch fight was nothing of the sort, and part of the reason why I though Thiago faired much better then Fitch did. And I acknowledged that it was Thiago's strentgh that was to an extent limiting GSP's attack.
But facial marks don't mean too much to me. Especially not in a 5 round fight where even moderate damage in each round can add up to fairly substantially looking damage. But dif guys mark up differently. Put up Penn's pic after he fought GSP, it will look alot better then either of these guys, yet he took the worse ass wuppin of the 3.
If we judge fights according to the swelling and cuts on a guys face, then Penn and GSP need another fight to break the tie. Cause right now it would be 1-1.

But GSP came out strong at the beggining of round 2, in that fight, and no way was Penn gassed at that point. I love the way Jackson communicates. Giving clear distinct and worthy instruction in a calm and positive manner.

| GSP took the fight to BJ at the start of round 2 and forced him to exert. GSP certainly got worked in the 1st, but his wrestling broke down BJ and left him fetal in the 3rd. | |

So what you're saying is that you're glad he won that fight, but you're not impressed by his performance?

So what you're saying is that you're glad he won that fight, but you're not impressed by his performance? I was impressed in that he completely controlled a fight vs a very worthy opponent. But I did not find the fight riveting, nor do I think he doled out an excissive amount of punishment. But I noted that the opponent, and his ability to limit GSP did play a part, and Im sure the injury did as well. Was I glad he won? Sure, he was my pick in the GOR and the guy brings integrity to the sport, but he is not one of my favorite fighters.
