Overeem off Strikeforce. Silva with no opponent.

Fresh of the news that the card lost it's freakshow attraction,
MMA Weekly has reported that Valentijn Overeem is out of his bout with former EliteXC HW champion Antonio Silva. There doesn't appear to be a solid opponent who can step in with just a week to prepare for the event.
The card now looks like this -
Main Bouts (On Showtime):
-Dan Henderson (25-8) vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral (36-8)
-Matt Lindland (22-7) vs. Robbie Lawler (17-6)
-Scott Smith (17-7) vs. Paul Daley (25-9-2)
-Antonio Silva (14-2) vs.
Valentijn Overeem TBA
Preliminary Bouts (Non-Televised):
-Lee Brousseau (7-2) vs. Mike Glenn (6-4)
-Ben Brown (1-0) vs. J.W. Wright (0-0)
Perhaps they can get someone in their deep HW roster to step up, but that seems unlikely, as Antonio Silva is one of the most ducked HW's in the sport. Well... if worst comes to worst there is always Scott Carson right?
This is unfortunate news for the title picture, as Strikeforce was obviously looking to keep Silva active, while using the Overeem connection to build towards a fight against reigning champion Alistair Overeem at some point during the summer.
Stay tuned to Ninjasplace as this story unfolds.
