| With all this debating going on with Jim Brown and LT and Peterson, just want to ask the question. Who is the best in the game right now? | |

| When healthy it's gotta be Ricky Williams or Cedric Benson...
Ok ok, it's Peterson. | |

| LT cant really be compared to Peterson since he is not in the prime of his career any more. | |

Well I ask the question because LT has come out recently and said he is still the best, despite what Jim Brown says. He believes he still has it and is still the best. So I wanted to know what everyone else thought.

In terms of production from last season it's definitely debatable. There were multiple RBs who put up bigger numbers than Peterson last season. Most agree he's the best, though, even if his college of choice is less than stellar.

I think Williams was most likely a fluke season but we'll find out. Turner was always awesome in limited playing time in San Diego so he might be the real deal. Still, they both put up better numbers than Peterson last year.

Well Peterson led the league in rushing yards, Turner just got more carries(for less yards), others just got more TDs. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics

| Hand up for going against the grain (The LT vote is mine)... As a pure back, LT is still the cream if healthy IMO. He's still a very dangerous runner, is a much better receiver and is a good blocker. Sure, AP had a better year last year in the running department... But even an unhealthy LT was still better out of the backfield. If his running numbers drop to or below where he was last year, I'll admit his legs are gone and he's just a pass catching back. | |

| AP, but with running backs it changes often. AP is one collor bone, ankle or MCL away from middle of the RB road fantasy value next year. LT has to be done at this point. Watch out for Matt Forte. | |

I also think Forte is in for a huge year in ChiTown. With the improved QB play Chicago will finally have a passing game and Forte is bound to benefit from that. His carries might take a small hit but Chicago will still run the ball. I think Chicago is going to be a really good team this year.

| This would have been a good argument in Peterson's rookie year.
Right now Peterson is miles ahead of the rest of the league...

I personaly think he is barely better than Orton, mainly due to his arm-strenght, but I question his decision making. He certainly didn't show me much in the first game with Chicago, but then again that is a small sample size. They will also be playing the Steelers next week, so Chicago will probably be 0-2. Also, losing Urlacher for the season really hurts them. I think Chicago will be lucky to to go 8-8.

| I'm not sold on Forte as a top 5 back in the league just yet. I like AD, LT, D.Williams, Turner and Thomas Jones all better. | |
