With the new year just weeks away, NBC takes a look at what made 2010 a year filled with world-wide inspiration and outrage, and how the glory of celebrity reached new heights with reality star sensations. Chilean Miner rescuer Brandon Fisher, "Hero Dad" James Jones, Mosque developer Sharif el-Gamal, LeBron James, Kim Kardashian, and Justin Timberlake all sit down with Matt Lauer for his annual Thanksgiving primetime special, "People of the Year" on Thursday, Nov. 25 at 9PM/ET, and speak out candidly about why this was their year. In addition, the special includes a special holiday tribute performance by singing sensation, Susan Boyle.

Lol. I'm Muslim and even I think that's a joke.

Just so I make myself clear. I just think the guy shouldn't build his mosque where he wants to build it. I have no problems with muslims I've known some very good people who are muslim.

No probz at all mmaeyes, were cool. I actually said he shouldn't build it there 2. It's a problem that he should avoid.

It just blows my mind that TV executives run their networks the way they do.

As far as the mosque, no one is arguing his right to build it there, but there is a moral line that shouldn't be crossed. What people don't realize is that all it would take is for one Muslim to come out and say it's being done in bad taste to restore A LOT of faith from US non-muslims. That of course will never happen though. It's like expecting Rev. Al to bad mouth a black guy.

I'm Muslim and I've stated many times it's being done it bad taste. They can build it anywhere in New York so they should build it about a mile away.

It's not at ground zero. Not this again. This debate I think is what ran those boxing gaywads off.
