PPV buyers know who Urijah Faber is, and if not they'd find out through typical UFC marketing. They'd have to do a Primetime but they could do it. With a solid co-main this sells great. But the UFC is not looking for relatively speaking, they are looking for good #'s for a UFC event. I don't think Faber vs Cruz does that.
I would think Zuffa would want to work the WEC guys into the mix(see Aldo), get these guys some UFC spotlight, let the fans learn who these guys are, not throw them at the top of a card and see what happens.
Faber Cruz as a co-main on a GSP card. 200k buys on his name alone. Add the UFC brand and you're looking at close to 500k which is what the UFC wants. Headliner. And even if the first fight isn't and is treated like Aldo's, should he come away champion, his first defense would be a headliner. The UFC didn't bring these guys in and up everyone's contract by 500% to have them chill on undercards and serve as dressing.

Obviously as a UFC title fight, it will not be anything less then a Co-main. But off the bat I don't think it will be anything more then that. Might be interesting to have the lightest weight class's title fight lead into the heavyweight title fight.

| You think BW would never carry a card then? | |

I think it could at some point. But I don't see it happening in the first go around.

| If this last WEC card was happening about a year after the merger, I think it would do very, very solid PPV buys. | |
