Maybe I went a step far, but the whole "I brought up Cain's tattoo" and then "I have no problem with a swastika tattoo" coupled with some of your other thoughts on the subject, certainly don't make it look good.

I grew up in an all black neighborhood in Akron, Ohio til I was about 14 years old, thats what I grew up around.

also, you read too much into the "I have no problem with the tattoo" statement. I said before and after that statement that I, in no way supported it, but didnt care enough about it to care about it. Its his body, let him deal with it. Maybe thats how I should have worded it.

Humans are inherently prejudice. It's always been that way and will likely always be that way. Individuals vary but as a whole humans don't like each other. It's kind how we are wired, past and present have proven that.

That may be true in your case, but I think he is refer to situations where a white guy and a minority have the same scores, same grades, similar financial situation and the minority gets more then the white guy. Happens all the time, if I was any race besides white I would have gotten a full ride to college. That is just reality, there was no other factor involved except race.

Yeah, sorry Spurs, Im not the best with semantics. I word things wrong ALOT when I type them out..im better at thinking and speaking than I am at typing..(for most people its quite the opposite)

ha ha spurs it's cool, the people who are receiving the special treatment(lack of better term) aren't the problem. You would be dumb not to accept it. I admit it is a bummer to have it happen to you, but I don't blame the people who benefit from it. I blame the people who felt it was "the right thing to do" and made it that way.

Im just saying I wish it was equal for everyone because I need the money too, im only pullin down about $10-12k a year right now and im living on my own (with 3 roomates), buying my own clothes, food, phone bill, internet, and gas. Not to mention the car I bought, the insurance on it and trying to pay for books and tuition.

I should get some sort of financial aid but got denied for it. I feel like, maybe if I were a minority I'd be getting alot more financial aid if I were in the same situation and it makes my blood boil because I really could use the money.

It was horrible what happened to blacks and native Americans at the hands of Anglo-Europeans, but should the more powerful race/cultural group pay for it with its very identity? Do you honestly believe that those groups, if they were in a position of power over Europeans would not have made the exact same mistakes? What white Europeans did to the rest of the world was wrong, but all humans do it to eachother, Africans and Native Americans were at war with eachother and enslaved eachother before "we" ever found them. Is it the fault of the white race they were merely the best at doing what all people ultimately do?

You need to emancipate yourself from your parents if that is the case. If you are truly supporting yourself without any help from them, and are still in school, only emancipation will get you financial aid. As of now, if your parents are co-signing loans and putting you down as a dependent on their tax returns, to the government, you are supported by them, so their income is looked at when you are applying for financial aid.

I'm not taking out loans though, luckily the school I currently go to is fairly cheap now that they lowered the prices somewhat because of the economy.
