Looks like Australia may become a new hot bed for MMA. Hot off the heels of the UFC's debut in the southern hemisphere, Impact Fighting Championships plans on bringing their show to Brisbane, Australia on July 10th and bouts are beginning to roll in.

Josh Barnett announced this week that he would be fighting on the card against Brazilian Geronimo dos Santos and MMANews.com has learned of another potential match up for the card down under.

A couple of UFC Hall of Famers have been offered a match on the card as MMANews.com spoke to a source close to the Mark Coleman camp and they have stated that Coleman was offered, and has accepeted a match against Ken Shamrock.

Coleman last fought for the UFC at UFC 109 against Randy Couture, losing in the second round via a rear naked choke in what can be only described as a piss poor performance and one that likely led to his last bout in the UFC's Octagon.

Shamrock hasn't fought in over a year and had been suspended following that bout for testing positive for banned substances. He is 3-7 in his last ten bouts and is likely coming to the end of his MMA career.

Coleman controls the action with wrestling and wins a unanimous decision in a fight that will be slow paced and boring. This will lead to people accusing these fighters of being too old to put on worthwhile, watchable performances, but no one would take into consideration the fact that this fight would have been just as unwatchably boring if not infinately worse under the old rules on some old UFC card.

Kens stand up was better than Marks, know im not so sure, back in the day woulda been fun to see if Ken could sub Mark, just hope he doesnt (Ken) get GNPd badly

The only juice these guy should be takin should be coming out of a Jack Lalanne juicer

Ken's standup is better, but Mark hits hard enough to hurt Ken. They are both old and slow and either could potentially just knock the other out with a sloppy punch. However I expect Coleman to score the takedown and sit in half guard dropping elbows for three rounds.

I'm not an A-Rod fan, it's an on going battle with me try to land him in a trade off Timmy
