One person won't be voting Mike Tyson into the HOF

Mike Tyson and Dennis Rodman deserve to be in the HOF for their sports. They should only be judged for what they did while playing the sport not what happened away from it.

It doesnt matter, he'll still be in it one day.

Tyson is a first ballot lock. I just hope the baseball writers in 10 and 15 years are more mature than they are now.

The writer probably just wanted to be controversial and to get his name known in America.

It's got nothing to do with that, Colin Hart has been a boxing writer for decades. He obviously has issues with Tyson's bad actions over the years.

If the 5th best HW of his era, Tyson, gets into the HOF, that must've been one helluva an era. I lived it and though it bought me a lot of excitement, I don't recall it being as effective as the 70's HW era. Holyfield, Foreman (Who Tyson ran from), Lennox Lewis (Who Don King paid 6 million to stay away from Tyson) and Bowe (Lucky for Tyson, they never fought during Bowe's prime) were all more effective HW's than Mike Tyson.

Tyson is a good highlight film. He fought frightened and overmatched opponents beautifully. Too bad he didn't like to get hit back. He might've made a decent HW. LOL. Since Tyson was the most exciting HW of the 80s and 90s and reality is a slave to perception, it's almost impossible to count on the boxing press having the intelligence or the guts to keep him out. As Floyd Mayweather just proved, it pays to duck dangerous opponents. In the long run, most people forget the "little things." Bottom line: Is Mike Tyson a HOF fighter? Hell no!

Guys who were only the 5th best of their own era should not be in the Hall. Its a joke if he gets into the HOF without ever beating another great HW.

More like jail and relevance kept them away from each other. After Bowe's third bout with Holyfield he fought Andrew Golota twice then retired in '96. Bowe turned pro in '89 mike already had seven defenses of his Heavyweight championship. Tyson loses in '90 to Douglas, fights four more times between '90- '91 then goes to jail for four years. In this time Bowe become the fighter we know. He was only a pro for roughly two years and about a year away from being ready for a title shot when Tyson went to jail, and not even close to being ready when Tyson lost to Douglas. Holyfield at the time was the Top dog and thats who Bowe and Rock Neuman set their sights on. Bowe fights Holyfield a third time in '95 then looks terrible and out of shape in two DQ's with Golota then doesn't fight for eight years. Their careers never meshed, that's why they didn't fight.

Ashame their paths never crossed.
