Delhi deploys Chimps for security at Commonwealth Games

You cannot make this stuff up.

The Indian government is deploying teams of specially trained langurs (large monkeys) to keep the other, smaller primate species in line during the upcoming Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Monkeys are as common there as pigeons are in New York, and in 2007 the Deputy Major of Delhi was killed by monkeys on his terrace.

So, who's up for a trip to India?

Those are not chimps. That is like calling a goat a cow because they're both ungulates.

Who are you, the zoology police? It's a damn joke. "Chimp" is a colloquial term for any small primate.

Technically, Chimps are not small primates considering they're a larger species, and the term isn't really used colloquially for lower primates like monkeys very often. "Monkey" is generally applied to all primates. The term "chimp" is used for apes more broadly, but every usage is wrong and kind of silly.

In any event, when most people see "chimp" they think ape or chimp.
