Top trainer Freddie Roach is featured in the October issue of Playboy (on newsstands now). The feature—The Unstompable Roach—talks about how Roach grew up among a family of fighters (including his mother, who was New England’s first female boxing judge) and went on to become a fighter. Says Roach of his childhood: “Tough household…She broke up one of our fights with an aluminum baseball bat. Hit my brother over the head with it twice—clang, clang!” Roach’s career as a boxer in Las Vegas is detailed in the article as well as his other thoughts/experiences as a trainer. Roach is currently best-known as a trainer to Manny Pacquiao. In the article, he talks about how Manny could defeat Floyd Mayweather.
