"Brazilian lightweight Thiago Tavares (14-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) has suffered a knee injury in training and has been forced to withdraw from "UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort."

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the injury from sources close to the contest, and though the extent of the injury was not immediately known, it appears as though Tavares will require surgery."
