I'd say im like a half-atheist.

This is why I never talk about religion with anyone.

I never preach to anyone about religion. I'm mates with Jews, Christians and Atheists and when we're hanging out we all respect each others religion and never try to change anyone. Each to his own. In the end I believe everyone will get judged for their own actions only. So be the best person that you can be and don't worry what anyone else believes in (unless that person is harming you).

Thanks Bird. Much less headaches and problems that way. That's why I love it here in Australia. Most are laid back and religion doesn't cause as much trouble as other parts of the world. You grow up with many different nationalities and religions here. If as a child you grow up with different kinds of people you become more tolerant and accepting.

Thomas, of anyone here I understand your frustration. However I have to note that religion and the belief in supernatural things is instinctual and genetic with our species, a left over trait from our evolution. So we might as well stop being so angry about it.

i guess you'd have to call me an atheist. Since i refuse to accept that anyone could possibly know the origins of our true god, if there is one, and basically all religions are metaphors for ancient astrology and sun worship.

Here's a pretty good and quick measure for dealing with people. The more certain they are of their positions and how things work? The less seriously one should take them.

Ever see the movie Rudy where the priest says (paraphrase) "In 35 years of religious study I've come up with only two incontrovertible truths. There is a God and I'm not him." Folks who can find only two incontrovertible truths are pretty thoughtful people. Folks who think they have it all figured out are either morons or college sophomores

Christians don't like talking to me because I ask scientific and philosophical questions that they have no answers for.
