I think escape was top priority, not fortification, but they still could of piled up some junk to make it tougher for the Zombies. They were really only in the store for an hour or two it seemed like, all in the same morning or afternoon. Those bacon tuxedos were barely working before they got showered. This show is gonna get real dark. I've been checking out the graphic novels.

Right, but when there is glass doors and zombies breaking in, you could slow them down with a few quick fortifications. Anyway, rain wouldn't have washed the smell off of them, especially if it was still storming because that would have obscured everything. I really don't like the direction of some of the characters. I'm getting close to jumping off.

same shit different day. So sick of using the dead as a metaphor for the insanity of the living. Also the slutty wife conundrum they're building doesn't seem as interesting. I was hoping the fate of his wife and child would be obscured for the entire show until the end when you find out if they lived or died.

Actually also, the plot is so easy to figure out. Asshole former partner is going to send dude back to get that racist who was chained up to the roof in an attempt to kill him off so he can keep his wife. He will probably have somehow gotten off the roof and will be in possession of that dufflebag full of guns.

That was a bit ridiculous though the way the gang of "vatos" resembled a gang from Grand Theft Auto and how "the vatos" are the only ones who hang around to check on their parents or how all the same gang's grand parents ended up in the same nursing home.

The stress of that situation could get to anyone.

I don't like how the story plays it so safe morally. Be mean to black people/women/whatever guys get eated, and the abused minorities and nice guys are the heros.

I probably like this show way more than I should.

On issue 21. Addicted, Bad things happen to everyone. I don't know if the show can get as hardcore as this, but they have done a decent job so far as far as these types of transitions go.

I read all 80 issues published to far. Fantastic story telling, really brutal presentation given the medium.

'The Walking Dead' Lets Writers Go, Arrives On DVD In Spring 2011

Posted 5 hrs ago by Josh Wigler in Image Comics, News

Just when you thought there was nothing that could stand in the way of "The Walking Dead" comes word that some major changes are coming to the smash hit AMC series.

Deadline reports that writer, executive producer and director Frank Darabont has let go of the entire writing staff on "The Walking Dead," which has already been renewed for a 13-episode second season. The decision extends beyond season one, however, as Darabont reportedly doesn't want a writing staff for season two — instead, he's considering assigning scripts to freelance writers.

AMC representatives informed Deadline that no final decisions regarding the show's production team for season two have been made at this time.

Among the casualties of the writer's room's mass cleansing are writing executive producer Charles "Chic" Eglee and Glen Mazzara, who wrote last Sunday's episode, "Wildfire." There's currently no word on whether executive producer and comic book creator Robert Kirkman's writing status on the show has been affected by Darabont's decision.

The reasons for the writing staff changes are currently unknown, though they're certainly surprising given the massive critical and commercial success that "The Walking Dead" has enjoyed since premiering in October. With everything seemingly on the right path, it seems strange that Darabont and the AMC network would want to tinker with their winning formula in such a dramatic way.

Elsewhere, The Hollywood Reporter has some happier "Walking Dead" news: although it's looking likely that season two won't air until October 2011, it appears that the DVD and Blu-ray of the first season will arrive in Spring 2011.

Don't know what to think about that yet.

I have a theory: Daryl might become an integral character in the next season if he survives the finale. Right now he is kind of an ass but as time goes on every character has a metamorphosis caused by sustaining through the collapse of society. Him and Rick might come to a similar Tyree and Rick type understanding about the new dynamics of right and wrong. Enter Merle as the Governor. Daryl battles himself to come to an understanding that leads him to kill his brother in the name of what he has come to know as right. End theory.

WHAT DA FUCK?

I'm dumbfounded by this, could it have been a money issue?

I've become a huge fan of the series, and it seems like a long wait till next october.

As long as they don't fuck it up with new writers I guess...

From what I know, Dragbot has written 3 episodes and Kirkman 1 and these two are not going anywhere, the others might of been help writers or something.

That's how it's done. It's a way to protect money until the show is known to be a success. The next season is going to be 13 episodes I believe.

#1 show of the fall. Top rated non sports cable program, only scripted non kids show in the top 25 cable viewer rankings. And all for a reason.
