sorry fellers I wont be around to update this till like the 11th - 13th ... luckily its a very slow month so its alright.

Well DQ wasn't the best choice, I was drunk and that was at 5 am, but Ninja never updated any of his picks, so all of had to do was pick the same.

I did this Mantis, but some never updated picks, so like do you not count those or count em if they still picked the right fighter? also some didn't pick all the picks.

If the fight isn't udated but the correct fighter is picked does that count? This is ur call.

I don't see why non updates who have the correct fighter picked would be in question. If they didn't update and had a fighter who lost it would still count as a loss for them.

What I meant is say a fight is scheduled between Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard. Someone picks Maynard to win. Florian gets injured and he is replaced by Tyson Griffin on short notice. If Maynard loses and the person who picked him didn't post an update saying "sticking with Maynard" it still counts as a loss.

Conversely, if the winning fighter is picked in a scenario similar to the above I don't see why it should count against them just because they didn't make a post including the new fighter is all.

I suppose they would go hand in hand, but I just simply didn't count them in my initial tally, like I said if we are counting em, Ninja is the new Champ, I don't have a problem with it.

Of course not. Why would someone get credit for picking a fight that didnt even happen.. the fight could have been totally different.. Not to mention, there is no telling if anyone would have changed their pick after the update.. that would all just be assumption.. this has happened many times before and I have always counted non picks / non updated picks as a Loss always .. not even counted them as nothing.. to encourage picking the whole card and not just going for ratio.. People could just not pick fights that they were on the fence about.. and I feel people should check back on there picks as well.. seems like a part of it to me..

I purposely picked all the same fights outside of 3 he hadn't updated... very Anderson Silva of me I know.. but trust me if I knew you guys wanted to still count a pick even though the fighter wasn't even fighting the right person.. I would have picked Daniel Roberts as well..

But obviously we can take a vote on anything if you guys like.

It depends on how "short notice" the fight was on.. if you mean 1-2 weeks than yes everyone should be able to come back here and change their picks, especially when any injury seems to be posted on the MMA board .. now if by short notice it's like 0-2 days and a good majority doesn't update there picks.. than I have just thrown out that fight all together.

I'm not on this forum often enough to change these picks when fighters get injured or updates are made to cards.

I usually make the picks right as soon as the pick em's get posted and I dont even really think about it at all after that.

Well I really don't know what to say because I find it hard for me to give someone credit for picking a fight that didnt happen. I have changed my picks all the time after fighter gets replaced.. so it would be me assuming that you were keeping your pick..

I feel like the best I can do for that is to just void the fight off but a part of me doesn't want to do that either.. It doesn't encourage people to update there picks.. I guess I can start posting a Pick'em Update thread in the Off Topic section again to remind people

but i guess this is an issue .. so I will put a vote up on it soon.

Now that these picks/GOR and rankings have gotten deeper and we have had time to establish methods and 'rules', it might be beneficial to all to sticky an official rules of pick'em and GOR, and the GP, if you think we are there yet and you have the time. It's a slow time this month fight-wise, if one was posted, participating members could comment and give feedback so the guidelines are more or less agreeable to all.
