Andrei Arlovski vs Randy Couture (at their peaks)

Randy's prime is hard to pinpoint IMO. His record is pepered with losses throughout his career. This is a tough one

I think Randy could wear Arlovski down with his wrestling and dirty boxing for a 4th round stoppage.

Randy would have a hard time getting inside AA's quick hands, but once he did, the game would be over and Randy can take a hit better than most.

But you never know when Couture will be able to install his Sonny Corelone "bang him against the wall" strategy.

Assuming Randy has the chin he had when he fought Rizzo, he could really make things ugly, but I just have a hard time seeing any Randy avoiding the combinations and power of AA for 25 minutes. AA fought and beat few real contenders in the UFC save Sylvia, but I think this is literal matchup nightmare for Couture. Until Bigfoot out boxed him, no one without legitimate KO power has been able to beat him. Randy doesn't have the power required to takeout AA. I know his chin is a question but AA has only been stopped by KO standing in fights power punchers who have one shot power(Fedor, Sylvia, Rizzo, Rogers are all KO punchers)

I haven't seen his loss to Ricco though, what happened in that fight?

Either Randy tries to trade and he gets KO'd for thinking he is a boxer or he chases him around looking for the takedown and gets KO'd if AA can sprawl out of it.

Pretty sure Rizzo Ko'd him late

This fight is 50/50 for me, can see Randy doing what he does just as easily as I could see AA picking him apart from the outside.

Ricco, not Rizzo. Was it a TKO after a tiring battle or a standing knockout?

Randy went 5 and won a controversial decision over Rizzo and then won the immediate rematch (which pissed him off) and Randy left the UFC

he made Randy tap from strikes I believe

Ya Ricco didn't Ko him, he hurt him then mounted him and got the fight stopped but AA wasn't out, he just couldn't get out of position. AA has had trouble with wrestlers and grapplers before, but other than this fight he usually KO's them after he gets up to his feet. A slow grinder like Couture would have a hard time adjusting to his speed once they separated after a clinch or gnp situation.

Remember this is Randy at his peak, he was a different animal then.

5 rd fight Randy all day IMO, he'd wear on AA till he broke him

3 rd fight AA could win a decision, now that I think about it, I don't think AA finishes Randy at his peak.
