| I can see them making this fight. He is Renzo's guy and would like to get revenge. He is trying to make a big comeback and a win over a name like Matt Hughes will help with that. | |

| From what i remember Almeida was doing pretty well against Matt Brown standing. Dont think i've ever seen Hughes have much success striking with anyone other than a completely gassed Bj. I think Almeida definitely has the edge striking and i dont think Hughes wants to play the LnP in Almeida guard. | |

| This is a tough fight for Matt. Hughes has already beaten Almeida in a ADCC back 2000 (I think), but Almeida has improved a ton since then. Matt has too, but he's also passed his peak and is on the wrong side of the 30s. Almeida looked like he had a tough cut to 170 so I think if Matt survives the first round and a half, he can beat Almeida late with better cardio. If Hughes was avoiding Gracie's ground game then I think he avoids Almeida's too unless he gets hurt and then instincts come in. | |
