I don't necessarily disagree, but what made Hendo the clear #2 MW? Beating Palhares and Bisping? Being successful in a different organization that also had a "middleweight" division that was closer to the UFC's LHW division..four years ago?

He was the number 2 MW when he left. It was either him or Vitor. Only makes the UFC look good if they can score Jake

It's a win for Dana. He collects Shields off the win and dumped Hendo and his contract before he falls apart. You heard the announcers going on about Hendo's injuries. I don't know if Hendo was the clear #2 either. I had him ranked there on rep, but I would not have bet on him against Marquardt, Sonnen, Okami or Belfort, and of course Silva. BTW, Shields also has a win over Okami.

Henderson's rankings have little to do with who he beat in the UFC and more to do with the fact that he held his own with Anderson two years ago and not having lost at Middleweight in 2 years prior to that, while beating Belfort and Wanderlei Silva in that time. It was more that Nate Marquardts loss to Anderson was much more devastating that made Henderson #2 and Marquardt #3.

But this doesn't hurt the UFC middleweight division. Everyone knew Bisping wasn't elite, and Rousimar Palhares is still a relative prospect. That fight with Franklin was at a higher weight and razor thin. Franklin was busting Hendo's ass with body kicks the whole time.

Hendo looked rough last night but I dont think it makes Dana look any better for letting him go. He wanted Hendo back they just couldnt come up with the right money so he let him walk. It had nothing to do with his fighting ability in my opion.

Since he tried to get a live card down the road from there, and then he put UFC 110 on I thought Dana would be laughing, you don't see that in the UFC after a fight, and that is why all the other promotions are still lookingup to the UFC.
