Fight Night ratings peaks at 2 million viewers

Wednesday's broadcast of UFC Fight Night 21 on Spike TV earned an avergae audience of 1.6 million viewers, station executives today announced.

The March 31 broadcast peaked with 2 million viewers, who tuned in for Kenny Florian's third-round submission win over Japanese import Takanori Gomi.

The event took place at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C.

The broadcast was the No. 1 rated program in its timeslot among men 18-34 and men 18-49

i don't know, is this good? it seems these cards were doing better a year ago and with your #2 LW and the winner of the highest rated season of TuF fighting and it to PEAK at 2 million? I guess if they ranked #1 in their demographic that is what matters, and it was on a weekday.

Fight Night 20 peaked at 2.0 Million with Diaz vs Maynard

Fight Night 19 peaked at 2.5 Million with Diaz v Gullard & Maynard v Huerta. That was also right before the Kimbo debut on TUF: Rampage vs Rashad. That was the 2nd highest rated Fight Night.

Fight Night 18 peaked at 1.9 Million with Kampmann vs Condit

Fight Night 17 peaked at 2.0 Million with Lauzon vs. Stephens. it had a lower overall rating though.

Fight Night 16 averaged about 2.0 Million on Fight for the Troops and raised over 4 Million dollars. I don't think they announced a peak # of viewers.

Fight Night 15 peaked at 2.3 Million with Diaz v Neer. That was the lead in for TUF: Nog vs Mir.

Fight Night 14 peaked at 4.46 Mllion with MW CHAMPION ANDERSON SILVA.

UFC 75 peaked at 5.9 million with Ortiz v Shamrock III.

UFC 75 was Henderson vs Jackson which peaked at 4.7 or 5.97 million viewers, while Shamrock vs Ortiz 3 - The Final Chapter did a 4.3, or 5.7 million viewers.

That breaks down to an amazing 5.7 million viewers for the fight. This shatters the UFC's previous record for the number of people watching a UFC fight at any given time. The previous record was 3.4 million viewers, despite repeated claims by Zuffa that the first fight between Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar was watched live by ten million viewers.
