Ali Funeka vs Joan Guzman II Set For March 27th

Moments ago former two-division world champion Joan Guzman 29-0-1 (17 KOs) faxed his signed contract to make official his rematch with two-time world title challenger Ali Funeka 30-2-3 (25 KOs) for the vacant IBF lightweight title. The bout will take place March 27th with Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, an unnamed site in Miami and the Madison Square Garden in New York being considered as sites for the fight. HBO will televise.

When Guzman and Funeka first met this past November many observers felt that Funeka deserved the victory instead of the official result of a draw 116-112, 114-114, 114-114. Team Guzman countered that the fight was close and that a case could be made for the draw. “I’m thankful to HBO, my promoter Golden Boy, and my manager Jose Nunez for this opportunity. I’ll be very prepared and ready come March 27th,” said Guzman, who will enter the bout with new trainer Lee Beard. Beard formerly trained Ricky Hatton.

A. give Guzman a paycheck tell him to go away, give Funeka his IBF belt and fight someone else

B. Or just kick Funeka in the nuts and wave the IBF belt in his face and give Guzman a blowjob after he losses 10-2 on every non-blind persons scorecards

Funeka's camp won a purse bid for a Rolando Reyes fight but it fell apart because Reyes refused to go to South Africa.
