I will say that Pettis had an easier road to the finals than pretty much anyone else on the list here with this format. He only has to fight a guy who is ripe for the kicking in Diaz, then either Cerrone(who he already demolished) or an inexperienced Khabib. It doesn't even get challenging for him style wise until he either fights Edgar(who is very prone to kicks), Alvarez(it's hard to pick him over Edgar given the reports coming out of that camp about Edgar schooling him on the reg a couple years back), Michael Chandler, or Josh Thompson. After that he either fights Bendo who he just got done body kicking to hell, or Melendez who just got body kicked to hell by Diego Sanchez, TJ Grant(doubtful he gets by Bendo who's pretty much bigger and better everywhere), or Jim Miller(I give him about a 10-15% chance of getting past Melendez).

Aldo is faster and wins alot of the ranged exchanges but ends up getting pressed against the cage for a good portion of the fight and even taken down a couple times by a much larger wresler than he's accustomed to fighting.

Fair enough. I think Aldo would win because he's takedown defense is better than Anthony Pettis' and is a much better striker than Bendo. Though we've seen Aldo fights not always go to script.

I see Pettis being vulnerable to good grapplers and bear wrestlers while I see Numagomedov being vulnerable to the badassitude of Alvarez, who said he wasn't impressed with Khabibs wrestling. Fights make the matchups.
