2013-2014 college football thread

Yeah I'm ready to talk about it since the coaches poll came out. I'm hyped my CARDS are #9. We have an outside shot at a national championship if the stars align. Our schedule is soft, but four teams on our schedule are receiving votes. I really hope Clemson can take out Georgia (afraid to play us) and South Carolina. If that happens and the SEC teams can beat eachother we should have a legitimate shot.

It's a weird year for OU, been awhile since we started the year with a noob QB. Landry got some PT when Bradford went down and wasn't the opening day starter and then played every game after that through his senior year. People can hate but he was a solid QB. So we went from Bradford to Jones to now we have 3 man battle, actually 2 man battle since 1 guy broke his foot this week and 1 of them is a redshirt Freshman. But all 3 are duel threat QBs that can run but also have an arm. Should be interesting. We have a very nice backfield with the best FB in football, who is probably the best player on the team oddly enough and a group of great RBs. So that's the bright side, run game should be solid but the pass game should be decent as well.
But defense has alot to replace but now Mike Stoops has another year with the defense so they might be OK. Big 12 has alot of solid teams but no great teams, or that is how it looks right now.

Teddy is legit though, enjoy watching him play. Man has heart. Respect that.

Still think my team has a good chance to beat yours head up.

After the Syracuse and UConn games last year I would say the Sooners have a chance, but not a good chance. I honestly think we're a legit top 5 team. I doubt Dyer will start over Brown, but we have four RB's that could start almost anywhere. Our receivers are easily one of the best in the country. Oh, and like you said...Teddy! 1500lbs of Oline should ne improved. If we can do better in defense stopping the run we should finish unbeaten. Then I hope we get a shot at the national championship. That's gonna be hard with our schedule though. Fuck Georgia for being bitches!

I'd put our RBs up against yours any day. Especially if you include our FB who is a monster that can play TE, FB and RB. We just can't get him the ball enough. Williams is extremely, extremely fast, Fitch is amazing when healthy and Clay is about as consistant as they come and we have a true freshman that was our highest recruit that is somehow talented enough to get some carries despite the talented vets ahead of them. OU may be weak in some spots this year, but RB sure as hell isn't one of them. Oh then you throw in the Belldozer? Run game is legit. Blake Bell is one massive dude. 6-6 255lbs. 11 TDs 8.2 YPC as a redzone/3rd down specialist. Legit.

Looks like Johny fuckin fggot is gonna miss at least half this season.

Just like I was hoping would happen, OU has named redshirt Freshman Trevor Knight the starter over Blake Bell. This kid is amazing and he has really been in the lead during the entire QB race. He is a better passer then Bell and he is much faster and more dynamic. This kid can go yard on every play. Definitely makes me feel better about this season.

He looked pretty good from the footage I saw yesterday. The kid has some wheels.

Yeah he does. He has a much better upside then Bell. Better passer, better athlete, faster, home run threat everytime he touches the ball. He is going to have some runs of 70+ yards this year. Our running game is just sick. But our defense could be pretty bad this year.

Teddy has heart. But this redshirt freshman at OU has a much higher ceiling. But plenty of people have potential, not everyone can live up to it.

Trevor Knight hurt his knee in the 2nd quarter and is out for awhile. But our running game is still sick.

I'd still take our 4 over your 4. Brown, Perry, and Dyer are all NFL backs and our FB has yet to be unleashed. I really hope we play you guys. I don't think we have a shot at the title game unless the SEC beats each other up real bad, we go undefeated, and the top big 12, pac 10 and big 10 teams have one loss each.

I wouldn't. We have a true freshman that is the truth. He won't get many carries because there are some monsters that have seniority over him in the backfield but Trey Millard is the best FB in the nation and I'll take Clay, Williams, Fitch, Millard, Ford and whatever QB is in there over any running game I have seen this year.

That interview was great. I didn't realize he was trolling them until the next day and thought he was doing the hardcore stuff again.

OU, our boys play this week. Expecting a close game, ND defense is still stout but offense has definitely taken a step back with Golson being out for the year. Its looked pretty sketchy in the past couple games

Yeah it should be interesting. I think both Bell and Knight will play at QB but OU's defense has been playing very well this year and the run game has been great. ND run defense isn't what it was last season so I think that gives OU a nice chance to get the win. They have some serious talent in the backfield and I'm hoping our true freshman phenom Keith Ford will get more carries this game. That kid is special.

ND run defense isn't quite as good but still very, very good. The only thing that gives them trouble is teams that run spread or have a mobile QB because our D is so massive in the front 7 but not the fastest. Against teams that run a traditional style though, its still real tough to run on. The offense is going to need to score some though and they haven't been good the past couple games. The running game has been a struggle, they've just been getting big plays over the top a few times a game

Well OU has 2 mobile QBs and their O-Line and D-Line is much better then last year. If we can get some decent play from our QBs then we should win. But even if we don't it should still be competitive. OU secondary isn't as good as his front so I'm sure they will get exposed at times.
