| My son won a gold medal at his second karate tournament last week! He also got a silver medal in Judo. The kid who beat him was probably 30 pounds and four years older than he was, and he still did ok. Wasn't finished, lost on points. His takedown D is great, such good balance. Submission game is nice too, especially gi chokes, arm triangles and rear chokes. He only got hit once the entire karate tournament. I am really proud of him. Also on Thursday at regular sparring class he won his first fight I can remember with a head kick.
I need to upload some video of him kicking ass sooner or later. | |

| He is seven, no weight classes at this tournament. It was more of a karate tournament with a judo event. He fought in the seven year old's division in karate and in the childrens division in judo, hence the match with the bigger kid.
He is a gold belt now in karate, still a white in judo. | |
