My babysitter for 7 years had one of these.

Pitfall, what do you know, a side scroller.

Don't remember the name of the game but it was like Space Invaders or Centipede I guess except stuff just came down straight at you or at an angle and you had to shoot or dodge it.

I forgot about Killer Instinct for the N64. I remember back in the day I pulled off some cool combo in Killer Instinct and I was so pumped I ran into my big brother's room to tell him, when I cam bounding in he was fooling around with this hot chick with curly hair, I was only about 6 at the time but thinking about it brings a smile to my face.

I will give a more elaborate response later.. have 3 minutes to get to work!

No it wasn't Galaxian or Galactic.

I tried to search for it about a month ago and there are literally 100s of games like these on the 2600.

It is a bottom up game just like all those others but the stuff coming at you was not lined up and didn't fall in a pattern. They came either straight down or at a slight left or right angle. Only three to five would ever be on the screen at one time. It was one of those games where after the 3rd stage all from there on out got insanely difficult. Getting to level 5 or 6 was a big deal. I remember in level 4, the graphic of the things coming down at you changed and they just came straight down, much faster and more frequently. Astroblast is the closest game I've seen that reminded me of it.

wow.. never owned PS1 .. had N64 .. and I can't believe I havn't even heard of Chrono Cross .. Trigger is one of my favorites of all time and didn't have a clue a sequel was even made.

Very good game, worth checking out on the play station store, it can be downloaded.
