If you want to win a Cage Warriors title this year, be prepared to work for it; the organization plans to host single-night championship tournaments this year in three different weight classes.

With belts now vacant in a trio of divisions, Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan and other executives to decided to raise the stakes for would-be titleholders.

So, beginning in April, the organization will host four-man tournaments in the bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight divisions. Win one of the single-night tournaments, and you get the belt.

The idea came about after featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor, who was one of the organization's biggest and most dominant fighters, vacated his titles for a UFC contract and a UFC on FUEL TV 9 bout with Marcus Brimage in April.

"When we heard Conor had been signed, we said, 'Let's liven this up for the fans,'" Boylan today told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio).

The two semifinal-round fights will kick off the card, and the tournament final will headline that night's event. Events and dates, as well as tournament participants, will be announced shortly.

"We'll do these tourneys to decide who the new champions are," Boylan said. "We're really excited."

In addition to the opening-round matchups, Boylan said each tournament will include a reserve bout in case a substitute is needed at any point during the tournaments.

As announced earlier today, all of Cage Warriors' events this year will stream live and free on MMAjunkie.com. Events are already planned for England, Scotland and Wales, and with up to 24 events expected in 2013, other European and Middle East markets are expected to be added shortly.
