Boardwalk Empire

I was luke warm on the first season.

But loved the start to the second.

Still think Buscemi is not a great fit for the lead role, but I felt the first 2 episodes have been super strong nonetheless.

In a landscape where I find most shows to be trying way too hard, Boardwalk seems to be the lone show willing to act in a sophisticated matter.

I like everything about the show. The second season has started off alot better. I like Buscemi as Thompson also. I think he does a helluva job with his role.

Boardwalk Empire was a slow burner for me, by the end of the first season I was beginning to appreciate it.

The second season begins here tonight, quite excited about it.

I wonder if they will kill Nukkie this season? It's kinda wierd since the story is told from the gangsters who didn't have a big name like Capone, Luciano, and Lanskey. I kinda like that though because I like Jimmy's character and Nukkie also.

I'm liking this season so far, I actually routing for Jimmy, I'm a sucker for gangster shows/movies

Jimmy and his half face friend Peter just scalped that dude for respect. That was bad as hell! The old guy was famous for killing indians in a bunch of wars and they ended up sending a huge message.

Boardwalk Empire is getting ruthless and just plain awesome!

Smokes Dexter(which Ive been watching, it's good, but it doesn't even try to be great, it freely admits it's cheese. Boardwalk is Great.).

It's really starting to develop into a quality show, the casting has been impeccable.

The last episode was great! I don't know if that was the last show of season 2 or not? Season 2 has been fantastic either way. Nukkie Thompson is badass!

Didn't see that ending coming. I thought maybe in season 3. Best single show of season 1 and 2 imo.

it was great, James had to go down but ironically it was nuks brother that put the assasination plot in play challenging james in front of his pals

I wonder what half face is gonna think about all of this. That dude is not to be messed with!

Obvious that Jimmy was going to go but still a pretty shitty decision. Definitely the best character on the show and really has me not caring at all about getting into season 3

Call me naive but I did not see Jimmy getting offed.

And while he was the best character, killing him made for a fantastic ending. At least for someone like me who didn't see it coming.

Is there a set # of seasons for this show? Being as how this is semi historical I wonder if this has a finite life, or if it is open ended.

Wow pretty surprised they actually killed him off so soon, I mean sure Nucky couldn't trust him after that but it's still a bold decision by the producers/writers.

Can't wait to see how Nucky reacts to Marg signing over the land to the Church, got a feeling it's going to lead to him making some rash decisions to keep the cash flow going as I am pretty sure that was his pension fund.

HBO might be under pressure from Showtime, AMC and FX but when they're on top of their game they excel expectations.

I love this show but never really posted cause I was taking it slow and didn't want to be spoiled. Jimmy was my favorite character from the start and rooted for him all the way didn't think he was gonna die until the second to last episode where they went back in time and focused on him more. That's always a giveaway and I was pretty pissed but he knew he was gonna die and wanted to but he was carrying the show for me and the best character. Didn't really wanna watch the third season because of it cause there wasn't really a better story line besides him but I did anyways. The new Italian guy is pretty cool and funny just how pissed off he gets about little things he's a fucking nut lol. I'm guessing half face is either telling Nucky what's up or getting on his good side so he can plot against him while getting close. I believe Nucky will be scared of the Italian and have him kill him by the end the Irish guy is a faggot don't really like his character. Nucky really isn't a gangster he's a pussy and getting whipped by a whore which will be his downfall coming soon. Looks like Al will be coming back in the next episode thank god. I'm tired of his wife already she needs to go but she will probably kill him in the end cause she is the only one that can get close to him and her story line is horrible and pointless. The ex cop cracks me up and he is ugly as fuck lol so uptight. Looks like he might get into the gangster business sometime this season.
