Australia is also 8th in total medals all time, so... Looks like they are preforming to expectations.

wow the USA women's boxer Clarressa Shields just put on a great performance , she looks like a star, maybe could help the women's boxing scene. It kind of sucks because the girl who CNN covered like crazy and got a cover girl contract (Marlen Esparza) lost so she gets the bronze medal and she claims she is retiring from boxing and going to college.

Meanwhile 17 year old Shields just bossed a top ranked fighter and is up for the gold. She fights pretty damn mean, check it out.

Amazing that team USA boxing will get 2 medals and they are both from the women.

hate to say it but I agree.
I believe that the system isn't that bad, its the incompetent judges. When people are actually good at counting punches it works. But when you watch a good round only to have a 3-2 score it just makes the sport look retarded

You mean he had too high of expectations. He was the main one in mind when I made the comments. But I'm just echoing what the experts are saying...all of them.

He was facing some stiff competition.

He's the current world champion and has the fastest time ever in the 100m without the super suits. He should've won.

womens boxing has had a relatively huge amount of coverage over here as well with nicola adams reaching the her final and an irish fighter called katie taylor getting a lot of coverage as well.

it's unheard of to see womens boxing in the mainstream media over here.

? It WILL be tape delay for us over here in the states. Sucks cause they will stick it at the end of the tape delay on primetime so I won't get to see it till like 10pm. But the soccer game will be live for me to enjoy.
