A três semanas do duelo com o campeão dos meio-pesados do UFC, Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida anunciou, oficialmente, o apoio das empresas Claro e Y. Yamada para o restante de sua preparação. No último dia 26, o carateca radicado no Pará já havia anunciado uma parceria com o Governo do Estado, através da Seel.

Acompanhado de sua esposa Fabyola e dos irmãos Takê e Chinzô, Lyoto chegou ao restaurante do hotel Connext Loft, no bairro do Umarizal, onde concedeu uma entrevista coletiva. O lutador contou a importância de receber o apoio para uma luta tão importante em sua carreira.

“A parceria feita com essas duas grandes empresas me ajuda para que eu possa treinar com muita tranquilidade e não me preocupar com outros fatores que antigamente me preocupavam. Fico inteiramente focado nos treinamentos”, conta Lyoto. “Um lutador que quer ficar no topo precisa de uma boa estrutura e a Claro e a Yamada estão me dando isso”, completa.

O Dragão Machida ainda aproveitou para dar detalhes sobre como está a reta final de sua preparação para o confronto com Jon Jones. Segundo o carateca, o lutador americano Muhammed Lawal, mais conhecido como King Mo, deve desembarcar em Belém na próxima semana e será o segundo sparring (lutador que auxilia outro lutador durante treinamentos, geralmente com estilo similar ao do adversário da vez) de Lyoto. “King Mo é um especialista em wrestling. Ele virá treinar comigo a partir da próxima semana e ficará por 15 dias”, disse.
