K.J. Noons vs. Billy Evangelista targeted for 'Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal'

Think is will be a good fight. See KJ taking it by using his boxing. Similar to what Jorge did.

Noons has this one all day.

I thought Jorge put a bigger beating on KJ then he did on Billy. Part of that was knees, but Jorge outboxed KJ as well.


Good scrap, and another instance where one must ask: does the loser make the jump to the UFC? With the depth at that division, even quality guys like these could be left out in the cold.

I like it. Noons striking should have this. Evangelista is a little more rigid and reserved with his kickboxing than I like to see, but he also a very tough dude to finish, he could be game if weathers Noons fury hooks and gets into the later rounds.

hope Noons gives up on his whole head ducking thing, he eats way too many knees because of it... this ain't boxin' fella!

he should be able to get a pretty easy win here tho

He was a little more conservative with Billy because he was content on just using his reach on Billy. I think if he pushed it more like he did against Noons, he would have finished Billy. I just think it's a matter of Jorge was far more agressive against Noons probably because there was not a certain physical mismatch that he could exploit while staying in cruise control against Noons like there was with Evangelista.

Really have not been impresed with Evangelista in his last few fights, actually...since his SF bouts vs. Aina, Gurgel, Masvidal and i think Spiritwolf..i'm not sure if i was ever impressed with him at all.

A loss to Evangelista would be pretty damning to Noons career. Masvidal is a more dynamic striker than Noons but he also isnt afraid to point grub with takedowns which really hurt Noons.

Noons is a bigger fighter than Billy, so that has already shown to cause Noons problems. Evangelista isnt likely to go for a takedown, but even then Noons would probably stuff him. I just see all KJ here.
