MMA RANKINGS - CHAPTER 1...

The idea was to do these rankings in the Official Rankings of Ninja's Place thread next time they are updated. But have at it if you like.

Yeah isn't this thread more or less just to figure out how many fighters we will be ranking? like 10? 15? 20?

Combat wins that thread

i think obviously fedor, anderson and gsp are the top 3 right now and after that everyone has a little ways to go. torres hasn't had much competition, evans is pretty good but needs a defense and machida would need to win a title. fedor, anderson and gsp though have all been great and been great for a long time now.

I don't know that I'd contribute regularly, but my two cents would be for a Top 20 for the sake of getting some disparity in the rankings. With just 10, 70% of everyone's rankings are the same fighters in the same order +/- 1 and that makes the whole thing pretty pointless IMO.

P4P thread from about 9 months ago, a few of you posted in this thread. NoRegret, Mauyjitsu, Andrew, Combat, Joshkeller, Farmer, Wolfy, Oggy, LTFG, LA, Chorky, Nets all have list still on there. Of course my list, Ninjas, BBC and maybe a couple others have been removed.

I might edit that later. I added somebody new in a pretty high spot so it might of fucked up the order. Don't know if i'm ranking Nog and Mir too low and Barnett too high...but i say everybody in there belongs there at the very least.

Barnett isn't getting credit for a fight where he was allowed to kick with fucking wrestling shoes on. What a fiasco.


Also, I am not instantly ranking Carwin ahead of Cain due to last night being fresher in mind. Cain is the better fighter imo, who has still proven more.

Damn, Wolf so unimpressed with Barnett that he left him out of the rankings and put satan himself Alistair Overeem in.

Alistair Overeem is a significant MMA champion who is scheduled to return to SF against another top ten HW, therefore he is more relevant to these rankings than Barnett who is trying to decapiated Mo with wrestling shoes on, then apologizes for "nut shots" 8 times.

I put Carwin ahead of Cain just due to the fact I think his 2 biggest wins are bigger than Cains. Mir>Nog & Gonzaga>Kongo.

I put Carwin ahead of Cain just due to the fact I think his 2 biggest wins are bigger than Cains. Mir>Nog & Gonzaga>Kongo.

Cain beat Nog too though. I know you know that. I just think Carwin deserves to be ahead because of the Mir win alone. I have Cain and JDS tied right now. JDS has beaten alot of top guys too. You could go either way with those two and not be wrong really.

No shoes or nut shot and Barnett still wins that fight Wolf. I had him in the top 5 last year and had to put him back in with a win.

I know he would beat mighty mo, but he isn't a relevant HW going forward. He means nothing to Strikeforce or the UFC, the only two places top HW's are fighting these days, fighting 40 year old K1 fighters in Japan where he can abuse the unified rules with reckless abandon.

Don't feel like wasting a roster spot on him anymore. I had him highly ranked just a couple of months ago, but enough is enough with this guy.

Kongo in the top ten over someone like Werdum, who is scheduled to fight Fedor? Interesting oggy, just curious, are you that high on Kongo or that low on Werdum?

Yeah in a way I feel ya there. I also think Nog may need to be at 10 or right outside the top ten. I think I jumped the gun and just put him in there. He did beat Randy, but he got beat down by Mir and Cain. I'm gonna edit mine.

I would rank Werdum in front of Kongo myself. I don't think just because he is fighting Fedor that means he deserves a top ten spot. He is around 11-12 to me. I wish he had another win under his belt since leaving the UFC. I would have him in there then. Once you get past the top 6 guys you could throw a bunch of guys around.
