Whats good for a sore throat?

I woke up Sunday morning and was sick as hell but I can deal with the runny nose and head-ache but i have a sick sore throat. I have sick time at work but I just got a minor promotion and really dont want to call in the next week after recieving it. I made it through today just barely and my throat feels worse. Any suggestions Boys?

Strep throat is going around. If thats what you have you will need to get an antibiotic from a doctor. Any white spots in the back of your throat? Good sign if so.


If not, you can warm up some Lemon juice, honey, tabasco sauce, and whiskey tonight. Get some throat lozenges to help ease the pain. That's all i have without using google my man.

Honey tea always helps me out.

My wife said there is no spots so thats good news. I have to do something because I can barely swallow anything.

Well I ended up not having to miss work. Best thing for my sore throat was ice cream. Thats what i ate for a day or 2. In 3 days I felt alot better.

Had a sore throat for about a week. Just lingering, killing me at night when I'm trying to sleep. Was nagging long enough I finally went to doctor. Said I got strep throat. Roids for 3 days, antibiotics for 10. But I already feel some relief.

future info.....most sore throats are from sinus drainage sitting in your throat...at first sign take mucinex to keep it draining and not sitting plus whatever else to help the cause /coffee, tea, hot ass shower etc. any kind of decongestion pill would help
