A welterweight bout between UFC veteran Thiago Alves (18-8 MMA, 10-5
UFC) and promotion newcomer Papy Abedi (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been added
to November's UFC 138 event.
UFC officials today announced that verbal agreements are in place for the fight.
As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported Tuesday, UFC 138 takes place Nov. 5 at the 16,000-seat LG Arena at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England.
The night's main card airs on Spike TV (via same-day delay), though it's
not clear if Alves vs. Abedi will be part of the broadcast. _________________  |

I know that now, but awhile back on MMA Live Gareth said the UFC wasn't coming to the UK in 2011.
Oh well, I need to attempt to catch this, Birmingham isn't far from Cardiff so I might be able to go with my bro. |

i think you got me all wrong. im just saying expect the unexpected.first off i was never high on alves,second even though paulo has lost twice in his last 2 matches he does have quality wins over 2 top wws (at the time) in kos and swick, and like you said is papy a finisher and big guy. i wouldnt count him out. last time a ww noob came into the ufc to face a top 10 ww he excelled and i wouldnt be surprised if this one did as well |
