Undefeated Brazilian light heavyweight Marcos Rogerio de Lima (8-0) has inked a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce according to Sherdog.com.
"Pezao" was last seen taking a unanimous decision from Paulo Filho at
FCF 5 last October. A date for his promotion debut has yet to be
determined.

Yes they are. Seems like every week I read on BE about one of their highly rated prospects is signed with SF. Good to see.

So will SF turn these guys into vaunted contenders and then pit them against top UFC guys OR will Strikeforce be only a temporary stop as they move on into the pack of UFC fighters?

If the role is the former, "feeder league" may not be an entirely accurate term. But whatever the terminology, Strikeforce continuing to make good signings indicates Strikeforce remains a relevant major league promotion, despite the fact Diaz or other fighters have left.

I hope the plan is to make Strikeforce last and use the belt system in Strikeforce as a way to find UFC contenders.

They will build up talent in SF and feed them to themselves.

At least that's how I'd do it, I'd also move guys down who might lose a few in a row, they can be built back up or used as stepping stones if they can't cut it.

The UFC needs to be careful though in assassinating the Strikeforce brand by making it appear second string.

I agree, I also think you are right about using SF belts system to create UFC contenders. I think they should keep it pretty close to how it is and only over time take some of the top names after they have risen and stayed at the top of SF. The buyout just makes it easier for when those guys do reach that elite status that they can then be transferred over the UFC.
