Giant Explosion in West, TX

A large explosion rocked the town of West, Texas, 19 miles north of Waco, on Wednesday evening.
A source said that a large swatch of the small town has been leveled.
According to initial reports, the blast was at the West Fertilizer plant at 1471 Jerry Mashek Drive, about a half-mile east of Interstate 35.
The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed there were multiple injuries.
At least 10 structures are on fire in the town, including including West Middle School, 406 W. Shook St., and a dispatcher calling for multiple ambulances said “we do have a lot of injured here.”
A dispatcher said the buildings on fire were near the 1300 block of North Reagan Street. Earlier, a dispatcher said people were trapped in a nearby apartment building.

The picture reminds me a lot of this forest fire by my place from 2001

Clear, near windless day in the sierra Nevada Forrest. I was in the flat lands about 50 miles away and it was just one giant column plume going strait up into the mid stratosphere for the first 6 hours. Fire started at the bottom of a large gorge. Can't find a pic from the valley floor but from 50 miles out it looked surreal and a lot like that pic

They are reporting 60 or 70 people died..

That pic is crazy! I saw video of the explosion and heard it registered 2.1 on the rector scale. Prayers sent to that community.

Yeah I saw this morning there were still fireman missing. Sad stuff.
