UFC 126 Prelims Sets Series Record on Spike TV - 2 Million Viewers

This past weekend's "UFC Prelims" broadcast on Spike TV, which coincided with the Feb. 5 "UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort" event, scored a series-high 2 million viewers.

Overall, the Spike TV broadcast earned a 1.2 household rating, including an impressive 1.7 among men 18-49. The one-hour broadcast was the highest-rated program in its timeslot among men 18-49 and men 18-34.

Top 5:
1) UFC 126 Silva vs. Belfort: Mendes-Omigawa, Cerrone-Kelly, 2.0 million viewers
2) UFC 109 Couture vs. Coleman: Guillard-Torres, Danzig-Buchholz, 1.7 million viewers
3) UFC 114: 1.6 million viewers
4) UFC 108: 1.5 million viewers
4) UFC 121: 1.5 million viewers
4) UFC 123: 1.5 million viewers

Well the fights were very good for the prelims so it makes sense.

i think the PPV is gonna do big as well, cant wait to see what the actual number is

It should be pretty high after all the hype the event got.

Yeah I thought the card was fine. Probably a 7 out of 10 for me. Which is good. I paid the 45 bucks and was satisfied with the card.

for the first time i actually had to pay full price for the HD ppv, every time before i payed 45 for it...

I dont have my HD hooked up yet.

after watching HDcable i haven't gone back. I have about 40 hd cables and thats the only channels i watch

I just bought a 47 inch TV and havent hooked up the HD shit just yet but my boy said once u watch HD u cant watch regular cable again.

im so over bars its not even funny, the only time i go is when theres a card i dont want to pay for

Initial buy rate projections based on trending patterns is 700,000 and
an independent cable estimate was 750,000 based on very early returns.
Keep in mind anything the first two weeks is at best an estimate. That's
is also pretty much along the lines of what most predicted out of this
show, which is a good number but the show had a strong main event given
Vitor Belfort's highlight reel for commercials, Anderson Silva's long
winning streak, Forrest Griffin being a big draw and returning after more than a year out facing a frequent headliner in Rich Franklin, plus the explosion of Jon Jones as a new star.
